Madison, WI, July 18, 2023 – Today, Secure ID, LLC announced its support of Assembly Bill 163, a groundbreaking legislation that aims to enhance the safety and well-being of our children in schools across the state of Wisconsin. This anti-choking bill represents a crucial step forward in ensuring the protection of our children and fostering an environment of safety.
Assembly Bill 163 requires schools to be trained in and have an anti-choking device as part of their first aid kits. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), one child dies from choking every five days in the United States. Airway clearance devices such as LifeVac are meant as a last resort device when current basic lifesaving protocols have failed. According to LifeVacs website they have saved over 1100 people worldwide, including over 700 children. This bill not only prioritizes our children’s safety but also highlights the commitment of Wisconsin's lawmakers to a safer future.
